Buy custom Cellulosic Ethanol as a Modern Source of Energy for Development essay

Current developing economies of the world are characterized by increased industrialization. This is because the traditional approach of agricultural economies cannot sustain the growing population. However, this has led to increased demand for energy to support developing industries. To achieve sustainable economic development, developing countries have sought various sources of energy, especially from bio-fuels (Cushion, Whiteman, & Dieterle 2010). Various forms of bio-fuels have been adopted and promoted for use in the provision of energy in most of developing economies. However, this has been faced by various technological, social, political, and economic constraints. These factors have acted as impediments to the development and promotion of bio-fuels in the provision of sustainable energy. There has been an increased use of modern fuels in developing economies such as coal, electricity, liquid and gaseous fuels (Tokgo%u0308z 2007). However, sustainable industrialization and economic development will be supported by adoption of more sustainable sources of energy. This has led to increased demand by countries to develop alternative sources of energy, which have less environmental and economic impact to developing economies (OECD 2004). Cellulosic ethanol is a bio-fuel, which provides sustainable renewable source of energy. Materials used in the production of cellulosic are readily available in most developing countries as they involve the use of biomass from agricultural produce. Production of cellulosic ethanol can also be based on certain municipal waste with adoption of various technologies to support the production. Therefore, cellulosic ethanol can be a reliable sustainable source of sustainable energy for developing economies because materials used in the production are readily available. It is also environmentally friendly and economical.

Affordable energy is among the most important ingredients of economic growth and development.  Modern sources of energy, which include gaseous and liquid fuels as well as electricity, have been essential in the provision of energy for driving industrialization in developing countries. However, affordable energy is also imperative for improvement of health, education, and reduction of human labor required in various industries. Developing economies are also seeking to exploit sustainable renewable energy. Biofuels can be extracted from sugar and starch through the use of conventional technologies (Zhu, Bao, & Lin 2004). Cellulosic ethanol industry has been one of the major biofuel industries that have been strengthened in most developing countries interested in the provision of sustainable energy. It has been widely used since it is eco-friendly, socially economical, and environmentally friendly. This paper seeks to develop a model, which would illustrate an implementation and adoption strategies of using cellulosic ethanol sustainable bio-fuel in provision of energy. The paper will focus on socio-economic, political, and environmental factors surrounding the adoption and implementation of cellulosic ethanol in developing countries. India and Sweden were chosen to represent industries, which use cellulosic ethanol in the provision of sustainable energy.

1. To determine a key driver of development and adoption of bio-fuel industry in both India and Sweden;

2. To describe the bio-fuel industry in both Sweden and India;

3. To describe policies and technological environment in the adoption of cellulosic ethanol;

4. To describe socio-economic factors that influence the adoption of cellulosic ethanol in the provision of energy;

5. To make recommendations regarding the policies and strategies through the development of a model to support the adoption of cellulosic ethanol.

This paper will seek to answer the following questions in relation to the development and adoption of bio-fuels, especially cellulosic ethanol.

  1. What are the key drivers of cellulosic ethanol adoption in Sweden and India?
  2. What is the situation of development and adoption of cellulosic ethanol in provision of energy in India and Sweden?
  3. What are the policies of technological environment in relation to the development and adoption of cellulosic ethanol in Sweden and India?
  4. What are the strategies adopted by India and Sweden in relation to development and adoption of cellulosic ethanol in provision of energy?
  5. What is the socio-economic and political environment surrounding the adoption of cellulosic ethanol in India and Sweden?

Increasing industrialization of developing countries is characterized by increased demand for energy. However, there is a need for development of sustainable renewable sources of energy, which will facilitate sustainable development. This paper will provide insights on the development and adoption of sustainable cellulosic ethanol, which is a renewable source of energy. The paper will also describe various policies and strategies, which can be adopted and used by developing countries in the provision of energy essential for industrialization and development.
